Relief Sculpture
Relief sculpture broadens the capabilities fo a sculptor. The ability to create a relief portrait from one photo alone makes it a valuable asset for any artist. To create a narrative or allegory are two more reasons. It has applications that only exist for 'relief' sculpture. The principles are the same whether it's for medallic art scale or a large architectural frieze. It is by any standard a unique and powerful medium that opens the door for a new and deeper understanding of sculpture and composition.
Eugene Daub has created hundreds of portrait reliefs for public figures, mints, and an 18ft relief for the Senate Chamber in the capital of Montana. He is the Vice President of the American Medallic Sculpture Association. Eugene is the sculptor of the Rosa Parks statue which resides in the Capitol rotunda in Washington DC.
