For centuries the Medal has been a traditional way to pay homage to great people and their efforts.
They are actually small monuments that show a visage and textual information.
Most medals have two sides which inherently compliments and marries the obverse and reverse together. For spatial considerations, most medals shown here are only the Front side,  or (Obverse). There is also another category of medallic art (scroll down) that are not so traditional. They are pure works of art that seek only to be themselves, unique works of art. As such, they have no boundaries in shape or size or subject. Eugene is one of the pioneer members of AMSA, the American Medallic Sculpture Association. He is PP and currently Vice President of that organization.
